A community has clubbed together in a bid to raise funds for a memorial for 'Laughing John'. John Daines was a local celebrity in the Rayleigh community who was known for his infectious smile and sugar eating. Laughing John, nicknamed so because of his bellowing laugh, touched the hearts of many in the Essex town.Tributes have poured in since news of his death circulated on social media earlier this week.
